Bridges Program

Operated by the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities, Bridges provides case-manager support to youth with disabilities transitioning from school to work. Ninety percent of those who successfully complete the program receive offers of ongoing employment.

Clubhouse Program

This program assists individuals with brain injuries to lead productive lives through community integration, vocational exploration, employment participation and volunteerism. Help-Your-Self, Inc.

A non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing accessibility for people with disabilities by providing tools and services to enable independent living, community integration, reduce barriers and educate to prevent injuries. Services include help with assisted living, education opportunities, enabling technologies, housing options, job searching and personal care assistant training.

Mayor's Committee on Persons with Disabilities of Washington, DC

Advocates and promotes societal inclusiveness and works jointly with human service providers, businesses, labor unions, local and federal governments to ensure their goal of empowering individuals with physical, mental and medical challenges.

Project SEARCH

The Department of Labor's (DOL) Frances Perkins Building now serves as a school house and workplace for up to a dozen DC high school seniors with cognitive disabilities participating in a program called Project SEARCH. Each day students report to DOL to learn employability skills in the classroom and job skills while participating in three internships during the year. Enforces federal laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), that prohibit job discrimination.

Vocational Rehabilitation Transition Services to In-School Youth

Services to assist young people with disabilities in transitioning from school to post-school activities including postsecondary education, vocational training, integrated employment (including supported employment), continuing and adult education, adult services, independent living and community participation.

Washington, DC Work Incentive Planning & Assistance (WIPA)
