An organization that enables housing for families of patients receiving medical care for an illness, disease or injury at major military and VA medical centers.
Home Loan Guaranty Benefits

Information on VA-guaranteed loans, which are made by private lenders such as banks, savings and loan associations or mortgage companies for the purchase of a home or to build, repair and improve homes for veterans with qualifying service. Some veterans may receive grants to have their homes adapted to meet their needs.

National Resource Directory (NRD) - Housing & Transportation Resources
A partnership among the U.S. Departments of Labor, Defense and Veterans Affairs, the NRD is an online directory that offers resources and information to help wounded warriors, their families and those who serve them as they transition back to civilian life.
Operation Forever Free
Provides assistance for service members and their families including funds for transportation, as well as modifying, re-modeling and building homes.
Operation Second Chance

Supports Service Members while at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and when they transition back to duty or back to civilian life through programs and services including modification of housing for Veterans with disabilities and assistance to the families of wounded Service Members.

Rebuilding Together - Veterans Housing Initiative

The Basics of Supportive Housing for Homeless Veterans
Information about supportive housing which provides affordable and permanent housing and services to help people with disabilities live more stable, productive lives. Veterans account for nearly one-third of men who are homeless. This link opens a PDF document.
VA Rules for Specially Adapted Housing Grants
Before the change in the law eligible veterans and servicemembers could receive special adaptive housing grants of $10,000 or $50,000 from VA only once. Now they may use the benefit up to three times. VA has mailed more than 16,000 letters to eligible veterans, reaching out to those who used only a portion of their grant or who decided not to use the grant even after initially qualifying.
