Assistive Technology Exchange Center (ATEC)

ATEC is a comprehensive assistive technology resource center that works to enable children and adults with disabilities to reach their maximum potential. Assistive technology is any item of equipment, specialized materials or strategy that is used to improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities at home, school or work. ATEC is one of Goodwill of Orange County's most innovative health and human services programs, and has been helping people with disabilities and other gain independence by providing services and solutions to individuals as well as their families and employers.

California Assistive Technology (AT) Device Loan Program

Statewide program provides short-term loans of AT devices to Californian individuals or entities. The purpose of the loan may be to assist in decision making, to serve as a loaner while the consumer is waiting for device repair or funding, to provide an accommodation on a short-term basis or for other purposes.

California Assistive Technology Loan Guarantee Program

Provides funds to guarantee loans made by eligible lenders to eligible Californians for the purchase of vans, automobiles and other special equipment to facilitate transportation of persons with physical disabilities. Loans are also available to assist Californians with disabilities, regardless of age, and private employers to purchase durable equipment, adaptive aids and assistive devices for persons with disabilities to live more independently or to engage in employment.
