Bridges Program

Operated by the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities, Bridges provides case-manager support to youth with disabilities transitioning from school to work. Ninety percent of those who successfully complete the program receive offers of ongoing employment.

Career Transition Program

Employment program provides a variety of services including career assessment, supported employment services, supported educational services and case management. The program is currently accepting referrals and is actively recruiting Montgomery County juniors, seniors, recent graduates, GED students and students that have recently exited high school that are between the ages of 16 and 22 and have mental health concerns.

Provides leadership and support in promoting the employment, economic self-sufficiency and independence of individuals with disabilities in the state of Maryland.

Maryland Work Incentive Planning & Assistance (WIPA) Contact Information

If you receive disability benefits from the Social Security Administration and are interested in working or learning more about how working would affect your benefits, you can get help from a community organization known as a Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) project.

Montgomery County & Prince George's County High School/High Tech Program

The goal of this program is to provide youth with disabilities in Montgomery County and Prince George's County high schools with early exposure to careers in the science, engineering, mathematics and technology-related fields.

Project Access High School Transition Program for Students with Disabilities

Facilitates the transition of high school students with disabilities into postsecondary education to increase the success rate and retention of freshman students with disabilities at Howard Community College, and helps to improve career counseling and job placement services for students with disabilities.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network of Maryland

SBDCs offer one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in central and easily accessible branch locations. SBDCservices include, but are not limited to, assisting small businesses with financial, marketing, organization and technical problems. Web site includes a list of all SBDCs in the state.

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) - Baltimore, MD Field Office

Enforces many federal civil laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), that prohibit job discrimination. The Baltimore Field Office has jurisdiction over the state of Maryland.

UCP on the Potomac

Provides services to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities in Maryland. Services include community supported living arrangements, day habilitation program, family and individual support services, summer programs/camps and vacations, supported employment and vocational services.

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Maryland Employment Services

Provides services and supports to individuals with disabilities to assist them to choose, obtain, and maintain paid employment in community settings.
