Use of Personal GPS Devices in Paratransit

The National Transit Institute at Rutgers University will be holding a webinar for transit professionals who are interested in the potential benefits of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to improve paratransit efficiency. TSA's Wounded Warrior Project

This Transportation Security Administration (TSA) program facilitates the movement of severely injured Service Members through the security screening process at the nation's airports. Persons eligible for this program include Service Members from all branches of the armed services who have special travel needs and their accompanying family members. To request assistance through the program, injured service men or women, or their designee(s) should call TSA toll-free at 1-888-262-2396, email or fax no later than 24 hours prior to flying.

DOT Announces $1.2 Billion in Federal Recovery Act Funds for Transit Improvements Throughout U.S.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has announced that grants totaling $1.2 billion in Recovery Act funds will go to improve state and local transit systems in the United States while supporting the creation of jobs and providing much needed transportation options for millions. Many of these grants will pay for paratransit services and accessible public transportation in communities around the country.

Travel Training for Student Success: The Route to Achieving Post-Secondary Student Outcomes

New resource for secondary school educators from Easter Seals Project ACTION includes a booklet, slide shows, questionnaire and links to additional information to support young adults' needs for public transportation through travel training.
